Northlight Theatre

Skokie, Illinois

Located in the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts, the home for Northlight Theater Company consists of a 330-seat theater with a thrust stage. The Northlight space serves doubly as a theater and as a banquet facility for an adjacent hotel. Twice yearly, the space converts from a production-ready professional theater to a 500-seat banquet hall. Because it is primarily a theater, diners find themselves backstage amid the dramatic lighting and stagecraft devices of the theater. Schematic design began in April of 1995; the first production opened in March of 1997.
